Parashat Korach – Opening Questions

Against whom were Korach, Datan and Aviram, and the 250 people rebelling? What was the essence of their complaints?
When Moshe says, "הָאִישׁ אֶחָד יֶחֱטָא וְעַל כׇּל הָעֵדָה תִּקְצֹף", whom is he requesting that Hashem spare? Does Hashem change His mind as a result of Moshe's plea?
Did Moshe design the test of the incense on his own? How much authority does a prophet have to act without explicit Divine sanction?
Why was the test of the almond branch necessary if Korach's followers had all already been killed by the hand of Hashem?
