Avraham's Prayer for Sedom

Exegetical Approaches

THIS TOPIC IS CURRENTLY IN PROGRESS

Everyone Saved

These commentators agree that Avraham wanted all of the people in Sedom to be saved.  But, they disagree about who Avraham was actually praying for:

Righteous and Sinners Saved

Just Sinners Saved

Avraham was sure that Hashem was going to save the Righteous so he was only praying that the Sinners will be saved.

Only Righteous Saved

Avraham was only praying that the Righteous should not die in the rest of the city's sins.

Place Saved

Avraham was not praying for any of the people he was just asking that Hashem will not destroy the land itself.
