Mixed Up Dates
While much of Torah is not dated at all, the introductory chapters of Sefer Bemidbar provide the reader with several explicit dates and time markers. These dates, however, do not proceed chronologically, making the reader question the organization of the chapters. The book opens on the first of the second month of the second year, with a command to count the nation:
