Parashat Bo – Summary
Introduction
- Parashat Bo integrates both narrative and halakhic material related to the Exodus.
- Chapter 10 describes the Plagues of Locust and Darkness and how, in their wake, Paroh slowly begins to yield.
- In Chapter 11, Moshe warns Paroh of the impending Plague of the Firstborn.
- Chapter 12 details the laws of the Paschal Sacrifice and the concurrent Plague of the Firstborn. Together, these lead up to the Exodus.
- The Exodus is followed in Chapter 13 by the transmission of several commandments designed to commemorate the event for future generations.
