פרק לה

(א) וַיַּקְהֵל מֹשֶׁה אֶת כׇּל עֲדַת בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵהֶם אֵלֶּה הַדְּבָרִים אֲשֶׁר צִוָּה י״י לַעֲשֹׂת אֹתָם. (ב) שֵׁשֶׁת יָמִים תֵּעָשֶׂה מְלָאכָה וּבַיּוֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִי יִהְיֶה לָכֶם קֹדֶשׁ שַׁבַּת שַׁבָּתוֹן לַי״י כׇּל הָעֹשֶׂה בוֹ מְלָאכָה יוּמָת. (ג) לֹא תְבַעֲרוּ אֵשׁ בְּכֹל מֹשְׁבֹתֵיכֶם בְּיוֹם הַשַּׁבָּת. (ד) וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה אֶל כׇּל עֲדַת בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לֵאמֹר זֶה הַדָּבָר אֲשֶׁר צִוָּה י״י לֵאמֹר. (ה) קְחוּ מֵאִתְּכֶם תְּרוּמָה לַי״י כֹּל נְדִיב לִבּוֹ יְבִיאֶהָ אֵת תְּרוּמַת י״י זָהָב וָכֶסֶף וּנְחֹשֶׁת. (ו) וּתְכֵלֶת וְאַרְגָּמָן וְתוֹלַעַת שָׁנִי וְשֵׁשׁ וְעִזִּים. (ז) וְעֹרֹת אֵילִם מְאׇדָּמִים וְעֹרֹת תְּחָשִׁים וַעֲצֵי שִׁטִּים. (ח) וְשֶׁמֶן לַמָּאוֹר וּבְשָׂמִים לְשֶׁמֶן הַמִּשְׁחָה וְלִקְטֹרֶת הַסַּמִּים. (ט) וְאַבְנֵי שֹׁהַם וְאַבְנֵי מִלֻּאִים לָאֵפוֹד וְלַחֹשֶׁן. (י) וְכׇל חֲכַם לֵב בָּכֶם יָבֹאוּ וְיַעֲשׂוּ אֵת כׇּל אֲשֶׁר צִוָּה י״י. (יא) אֶת הַמִּשְׁכָּן אֶת אׇהֳלוֹ וְאֶת מִכְסֵהוּ אֶת קְרָסָיו וְאֶת קְרָשָׁיו אֶת בְּרִיחָו אֶת עַמֻּדָיו וְאֶת אֲדָנָיו. (יב) אֶת הָאָרֹן וְאֶת בַּדָּיו אֶת הַכַּפֹּרֶת וְאֵת פָּרֹכֶת הַמָּסָךְ. (יג) אֶת הַשֻּׁלְחָן וְאֶת בַּדָּיו וְאֶת כׇּל כֵּלָיו וְאֵת לֶחֶם הַפָּנִים. (יד) וְאֶת מְנֹרַת הַמָּאוֹר וְאֶת כֵּלֶיהָ וְאֶת נֵרֹתֶיהָ וְאֵת שֶׁמֶן הַמָּאוֹר. (טו) וְאֶת מִזְבַּח הַקְּטֹרֶת וְאֶת בַּדָּיו וְאֵת שֶׁמֶן הַמִּשְׁחָה וְאֵת קְטֹרֶת הַסַּמִּים וְאֶת מָסַךְ הַפֶּתַח לְפֶתַח הַמִּשְׁכָּן. (טז) אֵת מִזְבַּח הָעֹלָה וְאֶת מִכְבַּר הַנְּחֹשֶׁת אֲשֶׁר לוֹ אֶת בַּדָּיו וְאֶת כׇּל כֵּלָיו אֶת הַכִּיֹּר וְאֶת כַּנּוֹ. (יז) אֵת קַלְעֵי הֶחָצֵר אֶת עַמֻּדָיו וְאֶת אֲדָנֶיהָ וְאֵת מָסַךְ שַׁעַר הֶחָצֵר. (יח) אֶת יִתְדֹת הַמִּשְׁכָּן וְאֶת יִתְדֹת הֶחָצֵר וְאֶת מֵיתְרֵיהֶם. (יט) אֶת בִּגְדֵי הַשְּׂרָד לְשָׁרֵת בַּקֹּדֶשׁ אֶת בִּגְדֵי הַקֹּדֶשׁ לְאַהֲרֹן הַכֹּהֵן וְאֶת בִּגְדֵי בָנָיו לְכַהֵן. (כ) וַיֵּצְאוּ כׇּל עֲדַת בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל מִלִּפְנֵי מֹשֶׁה. (כא) וַיָּבֹאוּ כׇּל אִישׁ אֲשֶׁר נְשָׂאוֹ לִבּוֹ וְכֹל אֲשֶׁר נָדְבָה רוּחוֹ אֹתוֹ הֵבִיאוּ אֶת תְּרוּמַת י״י לִמְלֶאכֶת אֹהֶל מוֹעֵד וּלְכׇל עֲבֹדָתוֹ וּלְבִגְדֵי הַקֹּדֶשׁ. (כב) וַיָּבֹאוּ הָאֲנָשִׁים עַל הַנָּשִׁים כֹּל נְדִיב לֵב הֵבִיאוּ חָח וָנֶזֶם וְטַבַּעַת וְכוּמָז כׇּל כְּלִי זָהָב וְכׇל אִישׁ אֲשֶׁר הֵנִיף תְּנוּפַת זָהָב לַי״י. (כג) וְכׇל אִישׁ אֲשֶׁר נִמְצָא אִתּוֹ תְּכֵלֶת וְאַרְגָּמָן וְתוֹלַעַת שָׁנִי וְשֵׁשׁ וְעִזִּים וְעֹרֹת אֵילִם מְאׇדָּמִים וְעֹרֹת תְּחָשִׁים הֵבִיאוּ. (כד) כׇּל מֵרִים תְּרוּמַת כֶּסֶף וּנְחֹשֶׁת הֵבִיאוּ אֵת תְּרוּמַת י״י וְכֹל אֲשֶׁר נִמְצָא אִתּוֹ עֲצֵי שִׁטִּים לְכׇל מְלֶאכֶת הָעֲבֹדָה הֵבִיאוּ. (כה) וְכׇל אִשָּׁה חַכְמַת לֵב בְּיָדֶיהָ טָווּ וַיָּבִיאוּ מַטְוֶה אֶת הַתְּכֵלֶת וְאֶת הָאַרְגָּמָן אֶת תּוֹלַעַת הַשָּׁנִי וְאֶת הַשֵּׁשׁ. (כו) וְכׇל הַנָּשִׁים אֲשֶׁר נָשָׂא לִבָּן אֹתָנָה בְּחׇכְמָה טָווּ אֶת הָעִזִּים. (כז) וְהַנְּשִׂאִם הֵבִיאוּ אֵת אַבְנֵי הַשֹּׁהַם וְאֵת אַבְנֵי הַמִּלֻּאִים לָאֵפוֹד וְלַחֹשֶׁן. (כח) וְאֶת הַבֹּשֶׂם וְאֶת הַשָּׁמֶן לְמָאוֹר וּלְשֶׁמֶן הַמִּשְׁחָה וְלִקְטֹרֶת הַסַּמִּים. (כט) כׇּל אִישׁ וְאִשָּׁה אֲשֶׁר נָדַב לִבָּם אֹתָם לְהָבִיא לְכׇל הַמְּלָאכָה אֲשֶׁר צִוָּה י״י לַעֲשׂוֹת בְּיַד מֹשֶׁה הֵבִיאוּ בְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל נְדָבָה לַי״י. (ל) וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה אֶל בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל רְאוּ קָרָא י״י בְּשֵׁם בְּצַלְאֵל בֶּן אוּרִי בֶן חוּר לְמַטֵּה יְהוּדָה. (לא) וַיְמַלֵּא אֹתוֹ רוּחַ אֱלֹהִים בְּחׇכְמָה בִּתְבוּנָה וּבְדַעַת וּבְכׇל מְלָאכָה. (לב) וְלַחְשֹׁב מַחֲשָׁבֹת לַעֲשֹׂת בַּזָּהָב וּבַכֶּסֶף וּבַנְּחֹשֶׁת. (לג) וּבַחֲרֹשֶׁת אֶבֶן לְמַלֹּאת וּבַחֲרֹשֶׁת עֵץ לַעֲשׂוֹת בְּכׇל מְלֶאכֶת מַחֲשָׁבֶת. (לד) וּלְהוֹרֹת נָתַן בְּלִבּוֹ הוּא וְאׇהֳלִיאָב בֶּן אֲחִיסָמָךְ לְמַטֵּה דָן. (לה) מִלֵּא אֹתָם חׇכְמַת לֵב לַעֲשׂוֹת כׇּל מְלֶאכֶת חָרָשׁ וְחֹשֵׁב וְרֹקֵם בַּתְּכֵלֶת וּבָאַרְגָּמָן בְּתוֹלַעַת הַשָּׁנִי וּבַשֵּׁשׁ וְאֹרֵג עֹשֵׂי כׇּל מְלָאכָה וְחֹשְׁבֵי מַחֲשָׁבֹת.

פרק לו

(א) וְעָשָׂה בְצַלְאֵל וְאׇהֳלִיאָב וְכֹל אִישׁ חֲכַם לֵב אֲשֶׁר נָתַן י״י חׇכְמָה וּתְבוּנָה בָּהֵמָּה לָדַעַת לַעֲשֹׂת אֶת כׇּל מְלֶאכֶת עֲבֹדַת הַקֹּדֶשׁ לְכֹל אֲשֶׁר צִוָּה י״י. (ב) וַיִּקְרָא מֹשֶׁה אֶל בְּצַלְאֵל וְאֶל אׇהֳלִיאָב וְאֶל כׇּל אִישׁ חֲכַם לֵב אֲשֶׁר נָתַן י״י חׇכְמָה בְּלִבּוֹ כֹּל אֲשֶׁר נְשָׂאוֹ לִבּוֹ לְקׇרְבָה אֶל הַמְּלָאכָה לַעֲשֹׂת אֹתָהּ. (ג) וַיִּקְחוּ מִלִּפְנֵי מֹשֶׁה אֵת כׇּל הַתְּרוּמָה אֲשֶׁר הֵבִיאוּ בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לִמְלֶאכֶת עֲבֹדַת הַקֹּדֶשׁ לַעֲשֹׂת אֹתָהּ וְהֵם הֵבִיאוּ אֵלָיו עוֹד נְדָבָה בַּבֹּקֶר בַּבֹּקֶר. (ד) וַיָּבֹאוּ כׇּל הַחֲכָמִים הָעֹשִׂים אֵת כׇּל מְלֶאכֶת הַקֹּדֶשׁ אִישׁ אִישׁ מִמְּלַאכְתּוֹ אֲשֶׁר הֵמָּה עֹשִׂים. (ה) וַיֹּאמְרוּ אֶל מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹר מַרְבִּים הָעָם לְהָבִיא מִדֵּי הָעֲבֹדָה לַמְּלָאכָה אֲשֶׁר צִוָּה י״י לַעֲשֹׂת אֹתָהּ. (ו) וַיְצַו מֹשֶׁה וַיַּעֲבִירוּ קוֹל בַּמַּחֲנֶה לֵאמֹר אִישׁ וְאִשָּׁה אַל יַעֲשׂוּ עוֹד מְלָאכָה לִתְרוּמַת הַקֹּדֶשׁ וַיִּכָּלֵא הָעָם מֵהָבִיא. (ז) וְהַמְּלָאכָה הָיְתָה דַיָּם לְכׇל הַמְּלָאכָה לַעֲשׂוֹת אֹתָהּ וְהוֹתֵר. (ח) וַיַּעֲשׂוּ כׇל חֲכַם לֵב בְּעֹשֵׂי הַמְּלָאכָה אֶת הַמִּשְׁכָּן עֶשֶׂר יְרִיעֹת שֵׁשׁ מׇשְׁזָר וּתְכֵלֶת וְאַרְגָּמָן וְתוֹלַעַת שָׁנִי כְּרֻבִים מַעֲשֵׂה חֹשֵׁב עָשָׂה אֹתָם. (ט) אֹרֶךְ הַיְרִיעָה הָאַחַת שְׁמֹנֶה וְעֶשְׂרִים בָּאַמָּה וְרֹחַב אַרְבַּע בָּאַמָּה הַיְרִיעָה הָאֶחָת מִדָּה אַחַת לְכׇל הַיְרִיעֹת. (י) וַיְחַבֵּר אֶת חֲמֵשׁ הַיְרִיעֹת אַחַת אֶל אֶחָת וְחָמֵשׁ יְרִיעֹת חִבַּר אַחַת אֶל אֶחָת. (יא) וַיַּעַשׂ לֻלְאֹת תְּכֵלֶת עַל שְׂפַת הַיְרִיעָה הָאֶחָת מִקָּצָה בַּמַּחְבָּרֶת כֵּן עָשָׂה בִּשְׂפַת הַיְרִיעָה הַקִּיצוֹנָה בַּמַּחְבֶּרֶת הַשֵּׁנִית. (יב) חֲמִשִּׁים לֻלָאֹת עָשָׂה בַּיְרִיעָה הָאֶחָת וַחֲמִשִּׁים לֻלָאֹת עָשָׂה בִּקְצֵה הַיְרִיעָה אֲשֶׁר בַּמַּחְבֶּרֶת הַשֵּׁנִית מַקְבִּילֹת הַלֻּלָאֹת אַחַת אֶל אֶחָת. (יג) וַיַּעַשׂ חֲמִשִּׁים קַרְסֵי זָהָב וַיְחַבֵּר אֶת הַיְרִיעֹת אַחַת אֶל אַחַת בַּקְּרָסִים וַיְהִי הַמִּשְׁכָּן אֶחָד. (יד) וַיַּעַשׂ יְרִיעֹת עִזִּים לְאֹהֶל עַל הַמִּשְׁכָּן עַשְׁתֵּי עֶשְׂרֵה יְרִיעֹת עָשָׂה אֹתָם. (טו) אֹרֶךְ הַיְרִיעָה הָאַחַת שְׁלֹשִׁים בָּאַמָּה וְאַרְבַּע אַמּוֹת רֹחַב הַיְרִיעָה הָאֶחָת מִדָּה אַחַת לְעַשְׁתֵּי עֶשְׂרֵה יְרִיעֹת. (טז) וַיְחַבֵּר אֶת חֲמֵשׁ הַיְרִיעֹת לְבָד וְאֶת שֵׁשׁ הַיְרִיעֹת לְבָד. (יז) וַיַּעַשׂ לֻלָאֹת חֲמִשִּׁים עַל שְׂפַת הַיְרִיעָה הַקִּיצֹנָה בַּמַּחְבָּרֶת וַחֲמִשִּׁים לֻלָאֹת עָשָׂה עַל שְׂפַת הַיְרִיעָה הַחֹבֶרֶת הַשֵּׁנִית. (יח) וַיַּעַשׂ קַרְסֵי נְחֹשֶׁת חֲמִשִּׁים לְחַבֵּר אֶת הָאֹהֶל לִהְיֹת אֶחָד. (יט) וַיַּעַשׂ מִכְסֶה לָאֹהֶל עֹרֹת אֵילִם מְאׇדָּמִים וּמִכְסֵה עֹרֹת תְּחָשִׁים מִלְמָעְלָה. (כ) וַיַּעַשׂ אֶת הַקְּרָשִׁים לַמִּשְׁכָּן עֲצֵי שִׁטִּים עֹמְדִים. (כא) עֶשֶׂר אַמֹּת אֹרֶךְ הַקָּרֶשׁ וְאַמָּה וַחֲצִי הָאַמָּה רֹחַב הַקֶּרֶשׁ הָאֶחָד. (כב) שְׁתֵּי יָדֹת לַקֶּרֶשׁ הָאֶחָד מְשֻׁלָּבֹת אַחַת אֶל אֶחָת כֵּן עָשָׂה לְכֹל קַרְשֵׁי הַמִּשְׁכָּן. (כג) וַיַּעַשׂ אֶת הַקְּרָשִׁים לַמִּשְׁכָּן עֶשְׂרִים קְרָשִׁים לִפְאַת נֶגֶב תֵּימָנָה. (כד) וְאַרְבָּעִים אַדְנֵי כֶסֶף עָשָׂה תַּחַת עֶשְׂרִים הַקְּרָשִׁים שְׁנֵי אֲדָנִים תַּחַת הַקֶּרֶשׁ הָאֶחָד לִשְׁתֵּי יְדֹתָיו וּשְׁנֵי אֲדָנִים תַּחַת הַקֶּרֶשׁ הָאֶחָד לִשְׁתֵּי יְדֹתָיו. (כה) וּלְצֶלַע הַמִּשְׁכָּן הַשֵּׁנִית לִפְאַת צָפוֹן עָשָׂה עֶשְׂרִים קְרָשִׁים. (כו) וְאַרְבָּעִים אַדְנֵיהֶם כָּסֶף שְׁנֵי אֲדָנִים תַּחַת הַקֶּרֶשׁ הָאֶחָד וּשְׁנֵי אֲדָנִים תַּחַת הַקֶּרֶשׁ הָאֶחָד. (כז) וּלְיַרְכְּתֵי הַמִּשְׁכָּן יָמָּה עָשָׂה שִׁשָּׁה קְרָשִׁים. (כח) וּשְׁנֵי קְרָשִׁים עָשָׂה לִמְקֻצְעֹת הַמִּשְׁכָּן בַּיַּרְכָתָיִם. (כט) וְהָיוּ תוֹאֲמִם מִלְּמַטָּה וְיַחְדָּו יִהְיוּ תַמִּים אֶל רֹאשׁוֹ אֶל הַטַּבַּעַת הָאֶחָת כֵּן עָשָׂה לִשְׁנֵיהֶם לִשְׁנֵי הַמִּקְצֹעֹת. (ל) וְהָיוּ שְׁמֹנָה קְרָשִׁים וְאַדְנֵיהֶם כֶּסֶף שִׁשָּׁה עָשָׂר אֲדָנִים שְׁנֵי אֲדָנִים שְׁנֵי אֲדָנִים תַּחַת הַקֶּרֶשׁ הָאֶחָד. (לא) וַיַּעַשׂ בְּרִיחֵי עֲצֵי שִׁטִּים חֲמִשָּׁה לְקַרְשֵׁי צֶלַע הַמִּשְׁכָּן הָאֶחָת. (לב) וַחֲמִשָּׁה בְרִיחִם לְקַרְשֵׁי צֶלַע הַמִּשְׁכָּן הַשֵּׁנִית וַחֲמִשָּׁה בְרִיחִם לְקַרְשֵׁי הַמִּשְׁכָּן לַיַּרְכָתַיִם יָמָּה. (לג) וַיַּעַשׂ אֶת הַבְּרִיחַ הַתִּיכֹן לִבְרֹחַ בְּתוֹךְ הַקְּרָשִׁים מִן הַקָּצֶה אֶל הַקָּצֶה. (לד) וְאֶת הַקְּרָשִׁים צִפָּה זָהָב וְאֶת טַבְּעֹתָם עָשָׂה זָהָב בָּתִּים לַבְּרִיחִם וַיְצַף אֶת הַבְּרִיחִם זָהָב. (לה) וַיַּעַשׂ אֶת הַפָּרֹכֶת תְּכֵלֶת וְאַרְגָּמָן וְתוֹלַעַת שָׁנִי וְשֵׁשׁ מׇשְׁזָר מַעֲשֵׂה חֹשֵׁב עָשָׂה אֹתָהּ כְּרֻבִים. (לו) וַיַּעַשׂ לָהּ אַרְבָּעָה עַמּוּדֵי שִׁטִּים וַיְצַפֵּם זָהָב וָוֵיהֶם זָהָב וַיִּצֹק לָהֶם אַרְבָּעָה אַדְנֵי כָסֶף. (לז) וַיַּעַשׂ מָסָךְ לְפֶתַח הָאֹהֶל תְּכֵלֶת וְאַרְגָּמָן וְתוֹלַעַת שָׁנִי וְשֵׁשׁ מׇשְׁזָר מַעֲשֵׂה רֹקֵם. (לח) וְאֶת עַמּוּדָיו חֲמִשָּׁה וְאֶת וָוֵיהֶם וְצִפָּה רָאשֵׁיהֶם וַחֲשֻׁקֵיהֶם זָהָב וְאַדְנֵיהֶם חֲמִשָּׁה נְחֹשֶׁת.

פרק לז

(א) וַיַּעַשׂ בְּצַלְאֵל אֶת הָאָרֹן עֲצֵי שִׁטִּים אַמָּתַיִם וָחֵצִי אׇרְכּוֹ וְאַמָּה וָחֵצִי רׇחְבּוֹ וְאַמָּה וָחֵצִי קֹמָתוֹ. (ב) וַיְצַפֵּהוּ זָהָב טָהוֹר מִבַּיִת וּמִחוּץ וַיַּעַשׂ לוֹ זֵר זָהָב סָבִיב. (ג) וַיִּצֹק לוֹ אַרְבַּע טַבְּעֹת זָהָב עַל אַרְבַּע פַּעֲמֹתָיו וּשְׁתֵּי טַבָּעֹת עַל צַלְעוֹ הָאֶחָת וּשְׁתֵּי טַבָּעֹת עַל צַלְעוֹ הַשֵּׁנִית. (ד) וַיַּעַשׂ בַּדֵּי עֲצֵי שִׁטִּים וַיְצַף אֹתָם זָהָב. (ה) וַיָּבֵא אֶת הַבַּדִּים בַּטַּבָּעֹת עַל צַלְעֹת הָאָרֹן לָשֵׂאת אֶת הָאָרֹן. (ו) וַיַּעַשׂ כַּפֹּרֶת זָהָב טָהוֹר אַמָּתַיִם וָחֵצִי אׇרְכָּהּ וְאַמָּה וָחֵצִי רׇחְבָּהּ. (ז) וַיַּעַשׂ שְׁנֵי כְרֻבִים זָהָב מִקְשָׁה עָשָׂה אֹתָם מִשְּׁנֵי קְצוֹת הַכַּפֹּרֶת. (ח) כְּרוּב אֶחָד מִקָּצָה מִזֶּה וּכְרוּב אֶחָד מִקָּצָה מִזֶּה מִן הַכַּפֹּרֶת עָשָׂה אֶת הַכְּרֻבִים מִשְּׁנֵי [קְצוֹתָיו] (קצוותו). (ט) וַיִּהְיוּ הַכְּרֻבִים פֹּרְשֵׂי כְנָפַיִם לְמַעְלָה סֹכְכִים בְּכַנְפֵיהֶם עַל הַכַּפֹּרֶת וּפְנֵיהֶם אִישׁ אֶל אָחִיו אֶל הַכַּפֹּרֶת הָיוּ פְּנֵי הַכְּרֻבִים. (י) וַיַּעַשׂ אֶת הַשֻּׁלְחָן עֲצֵי שִׁטִּים אַמָּתַיִם אׇרְכּוֹ וְאַמָּה רׇחְבּוֹ וְאַמָּה וָחֵצִי קֹמָתוֹ. (יא) וַיְצַף אֹתוֹ זָהָב טָהוֹר וַיַּעַשׂ לוֹ זֵר זָהָב סָבִיב. (יב) וַיַּעַשׂ לוֹ מִסְגֶּרֶת טֹפַח סָבִיב וַיַּעַשׂ זֵר זָהָב לְמִסְגַּרְתּוֹ סָבִיב. (יג) וַיִּצֹק לוֹ אַרְבַּע טַבְּעֹת זָהָב וַיִּתֵּן אֶת הַטַּבָּעֹת עַל אַרְבַּע הַפֵּאֹת אֲשֶׁר לְאַרְבַּע רַגְלָיו. (יד) לְעֻמַּת הַמִּסְגֶּרֶת הָיוּ הַטַּבָּעֹת בָּתִּים לַבַּדִּים לָשֵׂאת אֶת הַשֻּׁלְחָן. (טו) וַיַּעַשׂ אֶת הַבַּדִּים עֲצֵי שִׁטִּים וַיְצַף אֹתָם זָהָב לָשֵׂאת אֶת הַשֻּׁלְחָן. Chapter 35

(1) Moshe assembled the entire congregation of Israel and said to them, "These are the things that Hashem has commanded to do. Chapter 36

(1) Betzalel and Oholiav and every wise-hearted man in whom Hashem placed wisdom and understanding to know how to do all the workto do all the work… | לַעֲשֹׂת אֶת כׇּל מְלֶאכֶת – Alternatively: "to make all the work", with "מְלָאכָה" referring not to the process of creating, but to the objects created. Such usage is more explicit in Shemot 28:24. Elsewhere, too, "מְלָאכָה" can refer to made objects. See Bereshit 33:14, Shemot 22:7, and Shemuel I 15:9 where it means: "possessions". Several of the following verses are similarly ambiguous and can sustain both the idea of "doing work" or "making works". of the service of the Holy, shall do according to all that Hashem commanded. (2) Moshe called Betzalel and Oholiav and every wise-hearted man in whose heart Hashem gave wisdom, everyone whose heart uplifted him, to draw near to do the work. (20) He made the boards for the Tabernacle of acacia wood, standing upright. (21) Ten cubits was the length of the board, and one and a half cubits the width of the one board. (22) Two tenons for a board, parallel one to another; so he did for all the boards of the Tabernacle. (23) He made the boards for the Tabernacle, twenty boards on the southern side, southward. (24) And he made forty silver sockets under the twenty boards, two sockets under one board for its two tenons, and two sockets under another board for its two tenons. (25) And for the second side of the Tabernacle, on the northern side, he made twenty boards, (26) and their forty sockets, of silver, two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board. (27) And at the rear of the Tabernacle, westward, he made six boards. (28) And two boards he made for the corners of the Tabernacle, at the rear. (29) They were adjoined at the bottom, and they ended together at its top in the one ring. So he did for both of them; for the two corners. (35) He made a veil of blue, purple, worm-scarlet, and twined linen; the work of a designer he made it, with cherubs. (36) He made for it four acacia pillars and overlaid them with gold, their hooks of gold, and he cast for them four silver sockets. (37) He made a screen for the entrance of the tent, of blue, purple, worm-scarlet, and twined linen, the work of the embroiderer, (38) and its five pillars and their hooks; and he overlaid their tops and their bands with gold, and their five sockets, of copper.

Chapter 37

(1) Betzalel made the ark of acacia wood, two and half cubits its length, one and a half cubits its width, and one and a half cubits its height. (2) He overlaid it with pure gold on the inside and on the outside, and he made for it a golden molding all around. (3) He cast for it four golden rings on its four corners, two rings on its one side and two rings on its other side. (4) He made for them poles of acacia wood, and overlaid them with gold. (5) He brought the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark, to carry the ark. (6) He made a cover of pure gold, two and a half cubits its length and one cubit and a half its width. (7) He made two cherubs of gold; of beaten work he made them, at the two ends of the cover, (8) one cherub at one end, and one cherub at the other end; from the cover he made the cherubs at its two ends. (9) And the cherubs were spreading their wings upwards, screening the cover with their wings, their faces one to another; towards the cover were the cherub's faces. (10) He made the table of acacia wood, two cubits it length, one cubit its width, and one and a half cubits its height. (11) He overlaid it with pure gold, and made for it a golden molding all around. (12) He made for it a rim, a handbreadth all around; and he made a golden molding for its rim all around. (13) He cast for it four golden rings, and he put the rings on the four corners which are at its four legs. (14) The rings were adjacent to the frame, as holders for the poles to carry the table. (15) He made the poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold to carry the table. (16) He made the vessels which were on the table, its platters, its ladles, its jugs and its pitchers with which libations were poured of pure gold. (17) He made the Menorah of pure gold; of beaten work he made the Menorah. Its base, its branch, its goblets, its knobs and its blossoms were from it. (18) And six branches going out from its sides, three branches of the Menorah from one of its sides, and three branches of the Menorah from the other side. (19) Three almond-decorated goblets on one branch, a knob and blossom, and three almond-decorated goblets on the other branch, a knob and blossom; so for the six branches that go out from the Menorah. (20) And on the Menorah, four goblets, almond-decorated, its knobs and its blossoms. (21) And a knob beneath the two branches going out from it, and a knob beneath the two branches going out from it, and a knob beneath the two branches going out from it, for the six branches that go out from the Menorah. (22) Their knobs and their branches were from it; all of it was of hammered work, of pure gold. (23) He made its seven lamps, and its tongs and its fire-pans, of pure gold. (24) With a talent of pure gold, he made it, and all its vessels. (25) He made the altar for incense of acacia wood, a cubit its length, a cubit its width, a square, and two cubits its height; its horns were from it. (26) He overlaid it with pure gold, its roof, its walls all around, and its horns; and he made for it a golden molding all around. (27) And two golden rings he made for it, beneath the molding on its two sides, on both sides,its both its sides | עַל שְׁנֵי צִדָּיו – See the note on Shemot 30:4. as holders for the poles to carry it with them. (1) He made the altar of the burnt-offering of acacia wood, five cubits its length, and five cubits its width, a square, and three cubits its height. (2) He made its horns on its four corners; its horns were from it; and he overlaid it with copper. (3) He made all the vessels of the altar, its pots, its shovels, its basins, its forks, and its fire-pans; all its vessels he made of copper. (4) He made for the altar a grating, a copper network, beneath its ledge, below until its middle. (5) He cast four rings on the four corners of the copper grating, as holders for the poles. (6) He made the poles of acacia wood and overlaid them with copper. (7) He brought the poles into the rings on the sides of the altar, to carry it with them; hollow-planked he made it. (8) He made a copper basin and its copper base from the mirrorsfrom the mirrors | בְּמַרְאֹת – The noun is related to the root "ראה", to see, hence: "a mirror" (many commentators, noting that in Biblical times mirrors were made of copper rather than glass). See also Ibn Ezra that the "ב", normally translated as: "in" or "with", can also take the meaning: "from" (see such usage in Vayikra 8:32). Cf. R"Y Bekhor Shor: "in the sight of", with the verse emphasizing that the basin was made in view of these women who gathered, as a warning to them, for the waters therein were used to test the suspected adulteress. Prof. Itai Elitzur has more recently proposed: "in the visions of those who gathered…", suggesting that just as Moshe saw a prophetic vision of the vessels (Shemot 25:30), the artisans were shown an image of the basin. The verb is related to the noun "צָבָא", most commonly used to refer to an army or host, but sometimes also to refer to service (or an allotted time of service), as per its usage in Bemidbar 4:3, 23, Yeshayahu 40:2 and Iyyov 7:1. See also Ibn Ezra and Sforno who similarly translate: "those who gathered for worship/to seek God". Cf. Abarbanel: "those who gathered in hosts" (referring the many who gathered to donate). who gathered for service at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.Tent of Meeting | אֹהֶל מוֹעֵד – Ramban notes that since the Tabernacle has not yet been built, this might refer to Moshe's tent. Alternatively, if one assumes this refers to the Tabernacle, one might suggest that the command to build the basin was given later (see the placement of the command in Chapter 30, distinct from the commands regarding the other vessels), and that the copper for it was gathered only after the Tabernacle itself was already constructed. (9) He made the courtyard. For the southern side, southwards, the hangings for the courtyard were of twined linen, one hundred cubits. (10) Its pillars were twenty, and their sockets twenty, of copper; the hooks of the pillars and their bands were of silver. (11) For the northern side: one hundred cubits, their pillars twenty, and their sockets twenty, of copper; the hooks of the pillars and their bands were of silver. (12) And for the western side, there were hangings of fifty cubits, their pillars ten and their sockets ten; the hooks of the pillars and their bands were of silver. (13) And for the eastern side, eastward: fifty cubits. (14) The hangings were fifteen cubits for the shoulder, their pillars three and their sockets three, (15) and for the other shoulder;And for the other shoulder | וְלַכָּתֵף הַשֵּׁנִית – The connotation appears to be: "and likewise for the other shoulder". on this side and that of the gate of the courtyard were hangings of fifteen cubits, their pillars three and their sockets three. (16) All of the hangings of the courtyard were of twined linen. (17) And the sockets for the pillars were of copper, the hooks of the pillars and their bands were of silver, and the overlaying of their tops was of silver; and they were banded with silver, all the pillars of the courtyard. (18) And the screen of the gate of the courtyard was the work of the embroiderer, of blue, purple, worm-scarlet, and twined linen, twenty cubits in length, and the height in the widththe height in the width | וְקוֹמָה בְרֹחַב – The meaning of this formulation is not clear. As the screen was only two-dimensional, both terms might refer to the same dimension: while the screen was hanging upright one would refer to this measurement as its height, but while lying on the ground, it would be referred to as its width (A. Hakham, Da'at Mikra Shemot). Alternatively, perhaps the screen was made of four individual curtains, each measuring five cubits in height and five in breadth, like the surrounding hangings (W.C.
