Parashat Bo – Summary
Introduction
- Parashat Bo integrates both narrative and halakhic material.
- The first portion of the parashah describes the Plagues of Locust and Darkness and how, in their wake, Paroh slowly begins to yield.
- The next section details the laws of the Paschal Sacrifice and the concurrent Plague of the Firstborn. Together, these lead up to the Exodus.
- The Exodus is then followed by the transmission of several commandments designed to commemorate the event for future generations.
