Death and Burial of Sarah – Chapter 23 opens with Sarah's death at the age of 127. Seeking a place to bury her, Avraham negotiates with Ephron the Hittite to purchase the Cave of Machpelah in Chevron, establishing it as a family burial ground.
Finding a Wife for Yitzchak – In Chapter 24, resolute that Yitzchak not marry a Canaanite woman, Avraham sends his servant to find a wife for Yitzchak in Avraham's birthplace. After praying for divine assistance in fulfilling his mission, Avraham's servant selects Rivka (the daughter of Avraham's nephew), who has proven herself worthy through an act of kindness, and she returns with him to marry Yitzchak.
