Parashat Pekudei – Summary

Parashat Pekudei is the last of the five parashot which describe the instructions to construct a Mishkan and their implementation. This process culminates with Hashem's presence filling the Mishkan.
Precious Metals – Parashat Pekudei opens at the end of Chapter 38 with precise calculations of the quantities of precious metals donated for the building of the Mishkan and its vessels.
Making the Garments – Chapter 39 describes the fashioning of the priestly garments and Moshe's final inspection of all the Mishkan's vessels and priestly garments.
Inaugurating the Mishkan – In Chapter 40, Hashem commands Moshe to erect the Mishkan on the first of Nissan. The construction of the Mishkan is then completed with the placement of its vessels in their proper places, their consecration by anointment, and their initial use. Upon completion of these tasks, the Cloud of Glory and the Divine Presence fill the Mishkan.
